Through a video published on their official Twitter account, Santos Laguna announced the signing of Dutch striker Alessio Da Cruz.
Da Cruz arrived in Torreon two weeks ago, but some bureaucratic details held up his acquisition until today. He arrives from Parma on a one-year loan deal, after he spent the last few seasons in Italy, England and the Netherlands, playing on loan with Spezia, Ascoli, Sheffield Wednesday and last season with Groeningen.
The 22-year old appeared in 24 matches last season in the Eredivisie, scoring 4 goals. He will now try his luck in the Liga MX, as manager Guillermo Almada has a new weapon to try to go for the championship this season, after they were foiled in the final by Cruz Azul in the Clausura 2021. We'll see if he will make his debut as soon as Matchday 3, when Santos visits Tigres in Monterrey.
