NIFL Premiership club Linfield have confirmed the signing of Kevin Amuneke and the move will be ratified when the transfer market opens for business on January 1, 2017.

The former Nigeria international has agreed a short term contract that will run out at the end of this season, that is May 2017.

“As has been excitedly reported by the manager of Ballynure, I can confirm that Kevin Amuneke has agreed to join us on the opening of the transfer window on January 1, ” Linfield boss David Healy told the club’s official webpage.

“He’s signing as an amateur until the end of the season and he’s happy to do so, as all he wants is the opportunity to play and prove over the next few months that he would be worthy of earning a contract beyond the expiry of his short term amateur contract. A globetrotter in football terms, Amuneke has represented teams based in Portugal, Sweden, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia, and was recently on the books of Ballynure Old Boys (Northern Ireland).
