Confluence Queens of Kogi have recorded their first win of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Women's Football League campaign after a stunning win 2-3 over Nasarawa Amazons on Wednesday at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, Benue state.

Confluence Queens with just one point after three matches sought their first maximum points and squaring up against Nasarawa Amazons, that seemed a tall order for the ladies from Kogi to achieve especially playing away.

However, it was the Kogi Ladies that came to the game on the day with more intensity to win after scoring first in the pulsating encounter.

Chioma Moses drew the first blood with her 10th minute goal to portray a surprising 1-0 lead in favour of the visitors in the score board.

In the 24th minute, Titilayo Aweda canceled Chioma Moses opener for the visitors to level matters for Lafia based side.

But at the dead of half time, Moses got her second to restore Confluence Queens' lead into the end of the first 45 minute.

The second 45 didn't fall short of expectation as the end to end affair continued.

Aweda this time scored her own brace in the 68th minute to put the score at equilibrium for the home side in a delicately poised situation.

Mary Opara crowned the effort of an unrelenting Confluence Queens in the 73rd minute to score the third goal which went on to prove to be the winner in the game.

The win takes Confluen Queens to sixth on the log with four points, a place better than Ibom Angels who sit bottom in group B with three points.

Nasarawa Amazons make no movement as they remain second with seven points, but now share same points as Abia Angel's FC but are better on goal difference.
