NWFLPREMIERSHIP: Edo Queens wallop Adamawa Queens to end the year as group B leaders

In the late kick off of match day 4 fixtures of the Nigeria Women's Football League Premiership, Edo Queens eased pass Adamawa Queens at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Wednesday night.

A brace by Emem Essien, Suliat Abideen and Glory Osaghae's goals energised the Benin ladies to three straight wins in the league.

After what should have been the first goal by Yemisi Samuel but her weak shot was caught by the goalkeeper, Suliat Abideen opened score in the 9th minute.

She scored her first goal of the season with a beautiful volley.

Four minutes later, Essien made it two for the Moses Aduku's girls; a goal that kept the Edo Queens on top till the end of the first half.

Essien scored her brace in the 53rd minute via a glancing header to put the game beyond the visiting team from Adamawa State.

Glory Osaghae put the incing on the cake as she connected well to a cross from Essien to rattle the net for the Queens' fourth of the day.

Edo Queens now have nine points after three games. A loss and three successive wins to go top of group B in the 2022/2023 NWFL Premiership.
