NWFL goes on 2-week Christmas break

In the spirit of the holiday season, the Nigeria Women Football League joyfully announces a well-earned Christmas break for the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership following an exhilarating Matchday Six during the mid-week.

Anticipation is high as fans eagerly await the NWFL Premiership's return from a well-deserved two-week rest and festive celebrations for players and officials, in the second week of January 2024.

Guided by the visionary leadership of Chairman Nkechi Obi, the Nigeria Women Football League has borne witness to exceptional performances, spotlighting the undeniable prowess of country's women in football—a testament to the Women's Football Rising strategy.

As we embark on the festive season, Chairman Nkechi Obi and her board extend heartfelt wishes to the remarkable players, the dedicated club management, and the fervent fans whose unwavering support has been integral to the league's resounding success so far.

In a statement, NWFL boss Nkechi Obi expressed, "My sincere wishes go out to the incredible players showcasing outstanding skills, the tireless club management, and the enthusiastic fans who infuse our league with vibrancy. May this festive season bring joy, success, and a well-deserved rest to everyone involved."

The NWFL Premiership is set to resume action on January 10, 2024, promising a renewed dose of excitement and spirited competition as teams vie for a spot at the Super Six finals of the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership.

Heartland Queens and Edo Queens are currently at the summit of the Group A and B with 11 and 12 points respectively after Matchday Six held during the mid-week.
