Center defender Florence Alexander is looking forward to a successful season with Rivers Angels as the new Nigeria Women Football League Premiership begins on Wednesday.

The defender who recently moved from Confluence Queen to Rivers Angles said they need to start well if they want to reclaim the title they lost to Bayelsa Queens last season.

“We have to start well and I believe we will, we’ve put a lot of work into this season,” Alexander told Nigeriafootball.ng.

The Seven times champions have had a good preseason matches and Alexander is of the opinion that the team needs to build on the form from the preseason.

“We look good for the match, I will only urge us to keep the shape of how we’ve been building up so far and with that, I’m optimistic we will come out with something special.”

Alexander further stated how she has settled down well in her new club hoping to win as many titles as possible.

“Its a wonderful family here, I’ve been treated well since I came in and I’ve mixed well with my new team mates, the management and the coaches have helped a lot as well,” she continued.

“I came here to win trophies and laurels because that’s what Rivers Angels are known for, last season wasn’t that bad for us, but we couldn’t win any title but I believe, with hard work and God on our side, we will achieve greater success together this season,” she concluded.

Rivers Angels will kickstart their season campaign on Wednesday with an away fixture against reigning champions, Bayelsa Queens.
