NWFL: Adamawa Queens Coach commends his team despite loss to Abia Angels

Head Coach of Adamawa Queens, Jacob Vandhi has commended the display of his team and that of Abia Angels despite the loss, in their match on Wednesday at the Enyimba International Stadium.

Adamawa Amazons fell to their second consecutive defeat of the season courtesy of Nkechi Agams’ 86th-minute penalty to give Abia Angels victory in the 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership match day 5 fixture.

The 2019 Coach of the season was impressed with the general play of his team and that of his opponents, but was disappointed with officiating in the second half of the game.

“Tactically, my girls played to instructions. We know that we are coming for an away match and executed our game plan very well but the way the Nigeria league is,” Vandhi told Nigeriafootball.ng.

“Thank God that both teams played very good football tactically. If both teams continue like this, the future of football in our country will be bright. The only problem is officiating.

“The officiating was very good in the first half but towards the end of the match, I don’t know what happened. As a coach, one has to see the efficiency of one’s team at the end of every game so that one will go and work on it.

“That’s how the game is. There must be a mistake before a goal can be scored. We made a mistake and they scored us.”
