Nwabali set for Chippa United's exit

Chippa United head coach, Thabo September, has conceded that the club may part ways with some of its top talents—including Nigeria’s Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali—during the upcoming June transfer window, Nigeriasoccernet.com can confirm.

The Chilli Boys have long struggled to retain standout performers, with several key players exiting in recent seasons. Although Nwabali signed a fresh deal earlier in the campaign, his impressive form continues to attract strong interest from clubs abroad.

Speaking during a media briefing in Hammarsdale, September acknowledged the looming challenge:

“We will lose some, but there’s definitely a core group we’ll keep,” he stated. “It’s part of football. If you want to improve your team, sometimes you have to sell your best players, reinvest in younger talent, and aim for stability.”

While the potential exits could prove disruptive, the coach emphasized that such moves are part of a larger strategy focused on youth development and long-term sustainability.

“Yes, we’ll lose a few, but we’ll rebuild in those areas and maintain the rest of the squad,” he added.

Chippa United’s management will now face the task of balancing squad rebuilding with ambitions to stay competitive in the South African top flight, especially as transfer interest in their star players heats up.
