Olivier Ntcham has said that he is looking to leave Celtic this summer in order to further his development.
The French midfielder has spent two seasons at Parkhead but has now said he is hoping for a move away, having expressed frustration that a move to Porto last summer did not go through.
Celtic has given me a lot, but it's the best solution for my development.
Olivier Ntcham
Amid rumours of a return to France with Marseille, Ntcham indicated that the lack of competition in Scotland was a factor behind him seeking a move.
He was quoted as telling the Daily Record: "Celtic has given me a lot, but it's the best solution for my development. We can do as many matches as we want but, with all due respect for my opponents, if the level in front is not high, you do not progress.
"What could be the perfect stage for me? A big championship: Germany, France, Spain – coming back to France would be something very, very good."
The 23-year-old began his professional career with Manchester City, spending two seasons on loan in Serie A with Genoa.
Having failed to make a first-team appearance at the Etihad Stadium he made the move to Celtic in 2017 and has played for the club 84 times, winning the Scottish treble in both seasons.
Celtic are already well into their pre-season schedule with Champions League qualifying beginning on Tuesday.
The first round of qualifying sees Neil Lennon's side take on FK Sarajevo home and away as they seek entry to the group stages of the competition.
They also have a friendly at home to Rennes and begin the new Scottish Premiership season at home to St Johnstone on 3rd August.
Celtic are 1/5 to start off with a win with St Johnstone 12/1 and the draw 11/2.
Lennon's side are at 1/3 to win the Scottish title again next season with Rangers 12/5.
