The Tyler Fray Foundation, in partnership with the renowned Ten Strings Music School, has launched a transformative music scholarship program to unlock young Nigerians' immense creative potential. The groundbreaking initiative, unveiled in a statement on Monday represents a significant step in empowering the nation’s youth to achieve their dreams and establish enduring careers in the music industry.

The program was officially launched on Monday at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island in Lagos, attended by an array of prominent personalities from the worlds of music, sports, governance, and business. The event served as a rallying point for influential figures to endorse the foundation’s mission and celebrate its bold vision.
Among the distinguished guests was Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the Nigerian Sports Commission (NSC), who delivered a keynote address. Dikko emphasized the transformative power of music and education in shaping lives and communities. He also took a moment to honor Aisha Falode, an iconic sports broadcaster, former Chairperson of the Nigerian Women's Football League, and a current Executive Committee member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). Dikko described her as a “beacon of hope and resilience” and commended her tireless efforts in championing youth empowerment across various platforms. In a gesture of solidarity, Shehu Dikko pledged and redeemed a generous ?5 million donation to the foundation, urging others to contribute to this impactful initiative.
The event also saw the participation of other notable figures and institutions, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) who sent a representative, applauding the initiative, Festus Keyamo, the Minister for Aviation, was represented, signaling the federal government’s endorsement of the program, Ovation Magazine Publisher, Otunba Dele Momodu, CEO of Bril FM, Larry Izamoje, Media Entrepreneur, Kadaria Ahmed, Ibrahim Gusau, President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) who was in far away Morroco, was ably represented by Gbenga Elegbeleye, Chairman of the League Management Company (LMC), lending their voices and support for the foundation’s vision, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, former NFF Vice President, was also represented by his daughter, reflecting the widespread admiration and goodwill the initiative has garnered.

The scholarship program is deeply rooted in the legacy of Oloruntoba Oluwadamilola Falode, fondly remembered as Tyler Fray. Tyler, the beloved son of Aisha Falode, was a gifted and passionate musician whose life was tragically cut short. During the event, Aisha Falode, a trustee of the Tyler Fray Foundation, delivered an emotional address. Reflecting on her son’s life, she described him as a young man with an unwavering passion for music and an enduring belief in its power to transform lives.
