Nasarawa United finally got sigh of relief after their first win in the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL season against Kwara United at the Zaria Road Stadium, Jos on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Solid Miners were two nil to the good against an Afonja Warriors side that has struggled so far this term after seven matches this season.

First half goal from King Osanga and a second half strike by Chinedum Ohanachom did the magic for the Coach Aliyu side.

It was the visitors who looked to get the first goal of the game, but Osanga did turn momentum around after an early goal.

Ten minutes into the tie, the former junior international hit the ball to the roof of the left hand corner of the post after a layoff from Joshua John form a freekick.

The momentum remained with the host who saw off the half with the 1-0 lead and kicked off the second phase with a winning spirit.

In the 54th minutes experienced player, Chinedu Ohanachom consolidated the lead as King Osanga cut open the Harmony Boys' defence to set up Chidera Nduka who laid the ball on the plate.

The host pushed for more, but there was no much threat created despite the ascendency.

However, a rare chance came for Kwara United as Taofeek Ahmed hit a direct shot on goal as Jerry Isaac caught the ball on second attempt.

The Solid Miners eventually held on to record their first win of the season.
