NPFL'23 MD 9 Review: Lobi Stars back to winning ways as 3SC, Akwa United share the spoils

Lobi Stars, Sunshine Stars and Niger Tornadoes returned to winning ways in the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL match day 9 matches played across the country on Sunday, reports.

At the New Jos Stadium, the Shoe Get Size side won by two first half goals scored by Jospeh Atule and Abar Umar ensured victory and keep them at the top of the group B log.

Francis Odinaka was brought down in the 18yard five minutes into the game and was adjudged a penalty by the centre referee and Joseph Atule sent the goalkeeper the wrong way in the 7th minute.

Niger Tornadoes got a slim win over Doma United at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium courtesy of a 42nd minutes goal by David Okoromi's half volley from an Idris Saidu's free kick.

Bayelsa United had to comeback from a goal down to get a point after Rangers of Enugu had taken the lead at the Samson Siasia Stadium.

Godwin Obaje gave Rangers an early lead in the 5th minute before Mizo Roberts restored parity for the Host five minutes before the end of the first half.

It was a four goal thriller at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba in Ibadan as Shooting Stars Sports had to come back from a goal after taking the lead at some point in the game to take a point for on the game.

Joshua Akpan put the home side in the lead in the 14th minute, but Uche Collins and Liman Ahmadu scored within the space of four minutes to put the visitors in the lead before Ajani Ibrahim scored at the dead of half time.

A goal by Imade Oserenkhoe in the 23rd minute was enough for Bendel insurance to beat Enyimba of Aba at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
