NPFL'23 MD 9 Match Report: 3SC rally back to get a draw against Akwa United at home

Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan in second consecutive matches at home came from behind to get a draw result against Akwa United in their match day 9 fixture of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Oluyole Warriors had led by a goal to nil, but the Promise Keepers scored twice to equal score and lead before the home side restored parity in the first half.

At the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, the Host lead the pace of the game trying to score, but there was no much threat at goal in the early minutes.

By the 14th minute of the encounter, Joshua Akpan put the host ahead with his goal, but Uche Collins responded six minutes later to restore parity for the visitors.

Liman Ahmadu made it two for the Uyo side after tapping a rebound from a resulting freekick taken by Cyril Olisema in the 25th minute.

The home team responded with more pressure on Akwa United forcing them to commit fouls that resulted in a couple of bookings.

Ajani Ibrahim ensured his side do not go into the dressing room at half time in the losing as he scored in the 45 plus additional minutes to put the game at two all.

It was an end to end second half as the visiting side had the edge in the earlier part, but could not make it count while the home team could have scored to be in the lead at the latter part of the half.

At the end, there was nothing to choose between the two teams leaving the match result as 2-2.
