The Interim Management Committee, IMC did the draw for the 2023 Nigeria Professional Football League season after so many back and forth with the league resumption.
The draws which were conducted on Wednesday at the Sandralia Hotel, Abuja saw the 20 clubs grouped into two in an abridge version.
The first match day fixtures also revealed with group A which houses teams like Enyimba, Nasarawa United, Remo Stars, Plateau United, Kwara United, Akwa United looking like the most competitive group.
Eight times league champions, Enyimba have their first date to the season away from home against Nasarawa United in Minna.
Remo Stars play newly promoted sides, El Kanemi Warriors at the Remo Stars Stadium while Plateau United will host NPFL preseason tournament winner, Shooting Stars of Ibadan.
In group B, Rivers United will start their league title defense against Lobi Stars of Makurdi while Rangers of Enugu will host Abia Warriors of Umuahi in the first Oriental Derby of the season.
