Enyimba FC recorded their fourth away win of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League abridged season after edging El Kanemi Warriors on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The People's Elephant further compounded the woes of the Warriors from Maiduguri as they defeated them by a goal to nil scored by league top scorer, Chukwuemeka Obioma.
After a first half that looked like it was going to end in a stalemate, Obioma scored to put the visiting team ahead to end the first phase 1-0 and score his eleventh goal of the season.
The People's Elephant went ahead to hold on to the win which took them to second place in the league group A standings with 28 points, 4 points adrift of Bendel Insurance that top the group and have qualified for the super six.
A win in their next match, will see Enyimba progress to the super six while El Kanemi with today's loss, tread on dangerous grounds as they remain last on the log with 9 points with two matches left to end regular season.
