Nasarawa United have unveiled 13 new players as they move to strengthen their title bid.
The Premier League entered its second week on Wednesday with matches across the country, and the chairman of the Lafia club Isaac Danladi said he was confident that the new players would help the team.
Danladi, who says Nasarawa State Governor Tanko Al-Makura is committed to the success of the team, says the Solid Miners are the league and Federations Cup titles. The team lost 5-4 on penalties to IfeanyiUbah in the final of the Federation Cup in Lagos last year.
The chairman, who is also chairman of club owners in Nigeria, said Nasarawa had paid the coaches and players all their entitlements.
He said the management team and the players have enjoyed a sustained cordial working relationship towards achieving the desired objectives.
Danladi said the management had decided to improve on the team’s youth system to produce quality players.
He called on all sports lovers in the 13 local government and 18 development areas of the state to support the club, promising that they would win titles for the state this season.
The new players are Jacob Ogunleye, Adamu Lawal, Mohammed Galadima, Antonin Oussou, Buhari Jafar, Victor Okoro, Rabiu Shehu, Abubakar Ahmed and Jide Williams.
The rest are Abdulkadir Abolaji, Mohammed Wakeso, Muhammed Lawal and Ismaila Dogo.
