Enyimba avoided what would have been two straight losses as they grabbed a late goal to hold MFM to a 1-1 draw in a week 13 Nigeria Professional Football League clash at the UJ Esuene Stadium yesterday.
MFM looked to be heading for a surprise win in a game played on a very bad UJ Esuene pitch when they took the lead on 23 minutes through Stephen Odey with his eighth goal of the season.
But in the 81st minute, Ibrahim Mustapha made sure Enyimba avoided defeat as he made it 1-1. It was a missed opportunity for MFM as a win against Enyimba would have temporarily taken them to second in the league and on 22 points same as leaders Plateau United.
For Enyimba they’ve now gone five games without a win, with three losses and two draws.
