Sunshine Stars have become the next team to face sanctions from the Interim Management Committee of the Nigeria Premier Football League, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Akure side were sanctioned for failing to control their fans who disrupted the match day 13 clash between them and Enugu Rangers where they won by two goals to one.
The club got a sanction totaling the sum of ?1m with a warning of possible closure of the stadium to fans should there be a repeat of the breach.
According to the IMC, Sunshine Stars breached Rule B13.52 and Rule B13.18 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Framework and Rules.
The club were fined for five hundred thousand naira respectively for failure to provide adequate security and implement effective crowd control and disruption of the match by the fans.
Sunshine Stars have the right to either submit to the summary jurisdiction and the sanctions or elect to be dealt with by a disciplinary panel over the fine which is to be paid within 14 days.
