Warri Wolves defender David Chimezie says the club is determined to beat the drop zone in their fight to stay in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) next season.

Chimezie who put up a man of the match performance with a goal against Enyimba in a MatchDay 30 fixture at the Enyimba international stadium Aba, told www.npfl.ng that the “Sea-siders”will fight for points till the final day.

“We came to Aba knowing that our destiny is in our hands, and that’s why i needed to put up a perfect display, also crowning it up with the goal scored against Enyimba”.

On the solo all the way from his half into Enyimba’s to score for his team, he said he noticed that Enyimba Goalkeeper Bassa Djeri was always moving away from his goal line.

“While my teammates where pressing for a goal, i noticed from the defence severally that Enyimba Goalkeeper was always sliding in every clearance he made, so I told myself that I will make a push at goal, which eventually happened when they (Enyimba), lost possession while trying to score, and i capitalized on it and scored”.

David Chimezie also stressed that he is looking forward to taking his career to the next level.

“This is my first season in the NPFL with Warri Wolves, and I am determined to make it count, so as to move on to bigger things by God’s grace.
