Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL group B leaders, Bendel Insurance finally dropped points for the first time this season as Gombe United held them to a goalless draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Edo Arsenals couldn't break the Savannah Scorpions who increased their draw record this season to four after six matches.
A compact game it was in the first half as an effective Gombe defended well and tried to hit Insurance on the counter while the home team went attacking to score, but all efforts were in futility.
In the second half, this time Insurance increased intensity against a disciplined back line of Gombe. Imade and Agunye could have changed the score line, but they will rue the missed chances at the end of the day as the match ended 0-0.
In Uyo, Dakkada FC's struggle continued as Abia Warriors defeated them by four goals to two at the Nest of Champions in the group B match day 6 tie.
Emmanuel Onu opened score after capitalising on a loose ball to get the opener 27th minute into the game as the first half ended with the away side getting the advantage.
Three minutes into the second half, John Peter increased the tally for the Warriors making things difficult for Dakkada.
The Orange Boys got respite however later in the 65th minute as Emmanuel Ayaosi reduced the deficit to make it 1-2.
Felix Aniekwe restored the 2-goal for the away team in the 75th minute to cut short any hope of a come back for the home side.
Aniekan Ekpe did score for Dakkada in the 84th minute to restore some form of hope, but Monday Yakubu consolidated the win for Umuahia side with a last gasp strike to end the match at 2-4.
