NPFL REVIEW: Abia Warriors ease pass Bayelsa United

Abia Warriors got consecutive wins at home against Bayelsa United at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Wednesday in the 2022/2023 NPFL Match Day 2 fixture.

The Warriors after an away win against Rangers International of Enugu in their first match, defeated new comers, Bayelsa United by three goals to one.

Kalu Nweke put the home side in an early lead with a stress free goal in the second minute which separated the two sides at the end of the first phase.

In the 65th minute, Bello Lukman Idowu doubled the lead following a wonderful assist from Henry Udezuka.

The Restoration Boys tried to bring themselves back to the game by reducing the deficit in the 83rd minute after an own goal by Lukman, but Udezuka restored the 2-goal margin four minutes later which cemented the win.

It is Warrior's first win at the Umuahia Stadium after returning to the stadium after three years.

They will host to Lobi Stars in their next match on Saturday, the 22nd of January, 2023.
