FC IfeanyiUbah will hope to record a third win over Lobi Stars this season when both teams clash at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi in a Week 36 match Sunday.

They are third on the table with 53 points from 33 matches, while hosts Lobi are sixth on 49 points.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s all-important match, Cameroonian midfield maestro Tamen Medrano said he believes IfeanyiUbah are fully focused on getting all three points.

“We are fully focused on getting all three points, at this stage of the season we are taking the matches one after the other, we have prepared well this week and I believe we are going to get a positive result on Sunday,” said Medrano.

‘The Anambra Warriors’, who are in search of their maiden NPFL title, have shone since the start of the second round of the 2016 NPFL season, and Tamen Medrano said that clinching the NPFL title will be a perfect way to reward club owner, Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, for his support.

“Winning the league will be a huge accomplishment for us, our careers and to be part of the history of the club.

“It will also be a perfect reward for the president because he has invested a lot in the team this season.

“Most importantly, winning the league will mean a lot to the people of Anambra State because they have not had a team that has won the league and it will be wonderful to put a smile on their faces.”

A win for FC Ifeanyi Ubah on Sunday could take them to the top of the league if results go their way and having already beaten their opponents twice this season, ‘The Anambra Warriors’ will fancy their chances going into the match.

Facts Going Into The Clash:

FCIU are on a five-match unbeaten run in the NPFL with their last defeat coming against Plateau United on Week 20. ‘The Anambra Warriors’ lost that match 2-0.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah have lost only once in their last 16 matches in all competitions. In fact, they have only lost three times since the second stanza of the season - vs Niger Tornadoes, Nasarawa United and Plateau United.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah are yet to lose a match in which Ikechukwu  Ezenwa featured since he made the switch from Sunshine Stars.

In fact since the arrival of the Nigeria international, FC Ifeanyi Ubah has only lost once against Plateau United in Week 30 - a game Ezenwa didn’t play because of his involvement with the NPFL All-Star Tour of Spain.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah will be looking to get their first NPFL win in Makurdi since making their return to the top division. So far, ‘The Anambra Warriors’ have lost all three matches played in Makurdi.
