NPFL MD6. Review: Lobi Stars remain unbeaten after 5 matches as Wikki Tourist get first win

Eight wins out of ten, one away win, two draws and seven home wins are the stats of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL Match Day six action across the country, gives a wrap of how the matches went down.

Lobi Stars of Makurdi have remained one of the best team since the start of the season and they showed that again after they got a goalless draw against Niger Tornadoes at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium on Sunday.

They have now ganered thirteen points from a possible fifteen since they lost their first match of the season to Rivers United and have gone top of the group B log.

Wikki Tourist secured their first win of  the season at home to Rangers International. Abubakar Aliyu was the hero as the Giant Elephants trampled on the Flying Antelopes in Bauchi.

In another group B encounter, reigning champions, Rivers United ate the humble pie at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe as they lost by two goals to one against newbies, Doma United.

Usman Musa scored twice in the first and second half to cancel Ndasi's goal that had put the pride of Rivers in front in the encounter.

Nasarawa United's poor run continued as they lost by two goals to nil against Shooting Stars of Ibadan at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.

Samuel Ayorinde's quick-fire brace in the first half condemned the Solid Miners to their fifth defeat of the season.

Akwa United were too much to handle for Remo Stars of Ikenne as the Sky Blue Stars fell by three goals to nil at the Nest of Champions.

Cyril Olisema opened score for the Promise Keepers from the penalty spot in the 10th minute, but Akanni Elijah restored parity for Remo in the 24th minute. Uche Collins made sure United ended the half with the lead after turning in Etim Matthew's cross at the dead of the 45 minute.

Olalere Segun's 60th minute own goal after Olisema's drive proved the consolidation for the home team at the end.

Dagbo Muritala's 30 minute own goal earned Plateau United a narrow win against Kwara United at the New Jos Stadium.

Chukwudi Stephen's early goal in the game gave Sunshine Stars the three points over Bayelsa United at the Ondo Sport Complex.
