Plateau United's Technical Adviser, Mbwas Mangut, remains optimistic about his team's potential for improvement despite a 3-1 loss against Sunshine Stars at the Akure Township Stadium on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Peace boys lost their first match five after victory over Bendel Insurance, Heartland and league league Lobi stars with a draw at home to Shooting Stars.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Mangut acknowledged his team's failure to capitalize on opportunities created during the game.
"The league is really a marathon," he stated, "you can see 60 per cent of what we are working on in the game.”
“There is room for improvement; for me Sunshine Stars took their chances. We really played the way we planned but we didn’t take our chances." Mangut added.
Plateau United currently sits at 41 points from 24 games in the NPFL, indicating a strong performance overall despite setbacks.
Mangut's determination to address shortcomings and build upon existing strengths reflects the team's commitment to success in the league.
