Rangers technical adviser, Abdul Maikaba believes the financial promise made by Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Manfred Nzekwe, was a big morale booster for his side’s win over Wikki Tourist on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Rangers trounced their Bauchi based visitors 3-0 at the Akwa City Stadium in the matchday 16 Nigeria Professional Football League affairs.

Honorable Nzekwe a day before the game promised the players a bonus of N200,000 each if they beat the Bauchi Elephants.

This according to coach Maikaba was part of the things that spur on his boys.

“It was a good game and a good result that we worked for even as we can’t take away the effect of the promise of cash reward by the Youth & Sports Commissioner on the players,” he told the club’s media.

“Our opponent showed resistance but we wanted the result more and pushed for it and got it.”
