Ahead of the start of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, the Interim Management Committee (IMC) has assured everyone that all 20 clubs in the league will honour their Match-day 1 fixtures as scheduled.
Recall the IMC announce that the league will be in abridged format of 10 teams in two different groups. The decision which has brought division among club owners.
However an inside source at the IMC according to BSNSport reavealed that “Everything in top gear for the season kickoff and we're quite optimistic that all 20 teams will take part in the Matchday 1 fixtures."
Champions Rivers United will begin its title defence with a tricky home fixture against Lobi Stars.
The winners this season is expected to go home with a cash prize of a hundred million naira.
