NPFL: Heartland and Abia Warriors adopt Enyimba’s home ground for NPFL second half

Published on: 30 January 2024

Heartland and Abia Warriors have opted for the Enyimba International Stadium as their alternative home ground for the second half of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The decision follows the suspension of their original home grounds, Dan Anyiam Stadium and Umuahia Township Stadium, due to poor playing surface conditions.

NPFL Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi conveyed this development in a letter to the clubs, and the league body has accepted their choices.

Fixtures will be rearranged to accommodate hosting three league games at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba, addressing concerns about the playing pitch at Umuahia Township Stadium.

The NPFL emphasizes its commitment to continuous appraisal of club licensing requirements, ensuring remedial measures are taken if any club defaults.

The second half of the NPFL season is set to resume next month.
