NPFL: Enyimba FC struggles continue with against Sunshine Stars

Record winning champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League, Enyimba FC's poor run in the league has continued after playing a draw against Sunshine Stars on Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The People's Elephant were held to a barren draw at the Enyimba International Stadium in an NPFL match day 13 rescheduled encounter.

The team who started the game was slightly different from the team that started the game against Zamalek SC in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Goalkeeper Nathaniel Asibe started in the stead of Ani Ozoemena, who was in the CHAN Eagles camp. Pascal Eze paired with Innocent Gabriel in central defense, flanked by Francis Odinaka and Divine Ukadike. Kalu Nweke, Daniel Daga, and Chinedu Ufere anchored the midfield, while Austin Onyemaechi, Ifeanyi Ihemekwele, and Ekene Awazie led the attack.

After much pressure from the home side in the first half, the highlight from them was Ihemekwele's attempt hitting the bar.

In the second half, Coach Olarenwaju made some changes to the team with the introduction of Joseph Atule, Fatai Abdullahi, and Christian Nnaji, but it proved abortive as the Owena Whales held on to take a point in Aba.
