Published on: 22 September 2024

El Kanemi Warriors earned their first win of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League season after edging Nasarawa United in Saturday's game, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Despite Anas Yusuf's hat trick, the Borno Army came from behind to beat the Solid Miners 3-4 at the Lafia City Stadium.

The game came into life from the 14th minute when Yusuf stepped up to score from the spot for the hosts before doubling the score 6 minutes later.

However, Salihu Nasir brought the visitors back to the game with a brace in the 28th and 32nd minute.

El Kanemi Warriors completely turned the game around, winning the first half after Al-Amin Umar put them in front on 35 minutes.

Yusuf completed his hattrick on 68 minute to restore parity for the hosts and become the first player to score a hattrick this season.

Unfortunately, the hosts could not salvage the situation as Bright Etaghara scored from the spot on 90 minutes to give the Warriors from Maiduguri the win.
