Rivers United forward Chijioke Akunneto has set his sights on double glory with league leaders, Rivers United, Nigeriasoccernet can report.
With just 5 matchdays left to end the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League season, the league trophy is almost a wrap for Stanley Eguma's led Rivers United and that can be done as early as the matchday 35.
Chijioke Akunneto however cannot hide his excitement over the glory set ahead of him in the coming days.
Akunneto who is currently leading the goal scorers chat has set his eyes on winning both the league and the golden boot at the end of the season.
"Well as oliver twist, I will like to win both the title and goal scorer award, but lifting NPFL title with Rivers United is my ultimate target," Akunneto said.
"I'd like to win the award as top scorer but that won't make me to be too selfish, I will support my team mate in better scoring position. I've been providing assists for my team mates and I will still do more," he added.
He's currently on 16 goals while Enyimba's Victor Mbaoma who bagged an hat-trick over the weekend is in the second place with 15 goals.
