A second half goal from substitute, Bernard Ovoke was all the Aba giants needed to emerge triumphant in the Abia derby at the Umuahia Township Stadium, Umuahia.

First chance of the game went to Enyimba through Chibueze Izuogu whose effort was saved in the 5th minute.

30 minutes later, Obot tried one from long range but his effort was parried away by the goalkeeper.

The hosts, three minutes later came close to breaking the deadlock after Nwaburuoke Collins' header went over the crossbar from a corner as the first half ended goalless.

Enyimba continued to look the better side in the second half as Joseph Atule found the back of net but the goal was ruled out for offside after one hour mark.
