Published on: 07 October 2024

Nigeria Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa was the hero for Kano State-based side, Kano Pillars upon his return to club for another stint, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Musa scored two goals in each half as Kano Pillars returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Sunshine Stars at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium, Katsina on Sunday.

A goal in the 5th minute from outside the box courtesy of an assist by Mustapha Umar put the Sai Masu Gida in the lead till the end of the first phase of the game.

He doubled the lead six minutes after the start of the second half with a header from close range.

It could have been a hattrick for Musa, but a missed spot kick after his attempt came off the post in the 70th minute.

Pillars maintained the lead regardless to secure victory, the second of the season after five matches played.

Musa, an NPFL legend, at some point, emerged as the highest goal scorer of the league before moving to Europe.

He returned in 2021 to play for his childhood club without receiving pay before his return again this season with another NPFL legend and Kano Pillars player, Shehu Abdullahi.
