Super Eagles goalkeeper Adewale Adeyinka has resumed training with his club Akwa United after his involvement with the senior national team early this month.

After his sterling performances for Akwa United in the Nigeria Professional Football League, Adewale was invited to the Super Eagles camp by the team's handlers.

Adewale was part of the Super Eagles team that played two international friendly games against Mexico and Ecuador in the United States of America and was also involved in 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone in Abuja and against Sao Tome and Principe in Morocco.

Although the former junior international was on the bench in all four games, he is still waiting for his first cap for the Super Eagles.

The NPFL record holder for the highest number of clean sheets in a single season rejoined his teammates on Tuesday morning training session at the training pitch of the Nest of Champions where he was warmly received.

The shot-stopper thanked the management, coaches, staff and players of the club for all their support and encouragement to him while in the national camp and also presented Super Eagles jerseys to Akwa United's goalkeeper trainer coach Effiong Moses (MON), coach Ayodeji Ayeni and the Accountant of the club Mary Akpaidiok.

Team Manager of Akwa United Sir Emmanuel Udoh commended Adewale for the kind gesture and wished him well in all his future endeavors.
