NPFL: 3SC end Heartland hoodoo, Nasarawa Overcome Plateau United

Shooting Stars and Nasarawa United secured important wins in their week 12 fixtures against Heartland and Plateau United in the Nigeria Professional Football League on Saturday.

At the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, 3SC beat Heartland 2-1 in a highly entertaining clash.

Muyiwa Lawal broke the deadlock in the 51st minute, smashing home a delectable freekick.

The lead lasted only four minutes with Anthony Oussou finding the equaliser for Heartland.

After a long period of domination, Seun Akinyemi restored 3SC's lead  with a well worked goal in the 71st minute.

Kadiri Ikhana's men protected their lead for the remaining part of the game to earn another home win.

In Makurdi, Nasarawa United continued their resurgence with a hard-fought 2-1 win against  Plateau United.

Seun Sogbeso scored the curtain raiser for the home side from the spot on 19 minutes.

The Solid Miners wasted a number of glorious chances to increase their lead and were made to pay for their profligacy in front of goal when Julius Nuhu bagged the equaliser for the visitors.
