Nottingham Forest remains optimistic onthe return of Taiwo Awoniyi to action before the season's end, despite the striker's ongoing struggles with injuries, Nigeriasoccenet.com reports,

Awoniyi, the Nigeria international, has endured a challenging season plagued by various setbacks, including a groin surgery earlier in the campaign, which kept him sidelined for a significant period.

Although he made a return to action in January, Awoniyi finds himself once again out of contention due to a thigh injury, causing him to miss Forest's last four games.

According to The Telegraph, the Nigeria international is scheduled for a scan this week, with hopes that it will offer clarity on his potential comeback timeline.

With Nuno Espírito Santo’s side battling to stave off relegation from the Premier League and only six games remaining, the potential return of the 26-year-old would provide a significant boost to the Tricky Trees as they strive to secure crucial points in their survival bid.
