Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo has revealed that the club is still evaluating the fitness of Super Eagles defender Ola Aina as they prepare for Thursday’s Premier League encounter, NigeriaSoccernet.com writes.
Aina has been sidelined since sustaining a calf injury in March during Forest’s match against Manchester United. Speaking to the club’s official website, Nuno emphasized the defender's importance and the need for defensive consistency.
“We still have one more day, assessing all the players, trying to make the decisions,” Nuno said.
“We’ve been missing Ola, especially because of the stability and routines in the back four. I don’t know how many times we’ve had the same players — and that’s crucial, especially in defence.”
Forest will continue to monitor Aina’s recovery and determine if he can feature in the upcoming fixture.
