NNL'23: Olalere joins Gateway United

Midfield maestro Olalere Hakeem has sealed a move to Gateway United from Osun United.

The newly recruited Gateway United midfielder, Olalere Hakeem has promised a better expectations in his new home.

Olalere teamed up with Gateway United from Osun United for the 2022/2023 Nigeria National League season.

Kebu as he’s fondly called spent his last season with the Omoluabi Giants and he has an impressive performance, cementing his spot as the club’s first choice attacking midfielder under the then Head Coach, Olatunji Baruwa.

The former Shooting Stars midfielder said his ultimate target with the team is to gain promotion to the elite league, the Nigeria Premier Football League at the end of the season.

The highly experienced midfielder also added that the club will experience a turn around under the ex-international “Toyin Ayinla”.

“I feel good to join Gateway United. We know what is at stake and we are going to try our best to take the team to a greater heights.

“I want to assure the fans of the club that we will try as much as possible to secure a promotion ticket for the team”

Gateway United have adopted Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium Ijebu-Ode as their new home ground for the new NNL season, following the ongoing renovation of MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta.

The team will begin the season in their matchday one contest away to Crown FC at the Soun Township Stadium when the league resume back on Wednesday 22nd, 2023.
