The Nigeria National League match between Mighty Jets International of Jos and HypeBuzz FC of Abuja on Monday was put on hold due to security concerns, Nigeriasoccernet.com has gathered.
According to report, the match was scheduled for the New Jos Stadium was called off by the match commissioner following a breach by the Hosts in providing adequate security for the encounter.
It had been agreed at the pre-match meeting held in the morning of the match day that Mighty Jets will provide 20 security men, but HypeBuzz saw only 2 at their to the stadium in the afternoon.
The necessitated the Visitors to call the attention of the match commissioner and match assessor to the situation on the ground.
Both the match commissioner, Tanko Audu, and the Center Referee, Damian Akure both from Benue State, requested from the FA the number of security personnel, but the security personnel were not provided.
Consequently, the Match Commissioner and Center Referee Damian Akure decided to discontinue the match fixture due to development.
"We are ready to play the match; we've been for two days, but due to lack of security personnel on the ground, we can't play because the safety of our players, coaches, and other backroom staff is our main priority." HypeBuzz FC general coordinator, Shuaibu Yakubu said.
