Nigeria National League sanction has fallen on Maiduguri based El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club for their inappropriate behaviour in their first playoff game against Nasarawa United on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The NNL in a ruling statement released on Monday fined the club One Million Naira.

"Maiduguri based El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club has been fined One Million Naira by the Nigeria National League (NNL) for indecent conduct during their Day One fixture against Nasarawa United at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium,Enugu."

The statement say the Solid Miners head of Supporters Club and other supporters of the team invaded the pitch after a goal El-Kanemi scored through penalty was rightly cancelled by the referee and made attempt to attack the referee but for the intervention of the security personnel.

The league body therefore sanctioned the club and place a ban on the head of Supporters Club for the entire duration of the Super Eight playoffs.

El Kanemi Warriors is also urged to educate its fans on appropriate behaviour to be exhibited during match days.
