NNL: ABS starts season with a slim win over Mailantarki FC

Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) started their 2022/2023 Nigeria National League, NNL season with a win over newly promoted side, Mailantarki Care FC, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Ilorin based club edged the Gombe side 1-0 which was scored by Bolakale Karatu at the Soun Township Stadium, Ogbomoso on Thursday.

After 21 minutes of play, Bolakale Karatu tapped in Waliyullahi Adebayo's cross from close range to give the Saraki Boys the lead.

A massive save from goalkeeper, Boje Abdullahi kept the score line the same as the Amazon Kayakers mounted pressure to equal score in the 42nd minute.

Two minutes later, Samuel Solomon forced Mailantarki goalkeeper, Edward Ahmed to a fine save as the first phase of the tie ended 1-0 in favour of the Ilorin side.

In the second half, as expected the Visitors edged it in performance as they sought a goal to bring them back into the game.

Boje Abdullahi was on hand to save the day again for ABS in the 59th minute of the tie.

Meanwhile, Karatu would have doubled the lead, but missed a glorious chance on the 85th minute.

Two minutes later, goals Abdullahi answered to duty call to save the homers from losing maximum points as the match ended 1-0 after 90 minutes.
