The Nationwide League One, NLO has ruled that Police Barretta FC will be playing the next round following the ruling against their opponents, Warinje FC on Friday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Police Barretta of Gombe had protested against Warinje FC on issues of player ineligibility after their 3-0 loss to the Bauchi side in their match played in Lafia on the 27th of May 2024.
The NLO stated that Police Barretta followed the guidelines for protest against players ineligibility by presenting the case prior to the match and the picture of the player with the Match Commissioner, and the team was adequately informed.
While Warinje FC flouted the NLO Rules on eligible players as there was no transfer from his previous club (Deluxe FC Jos) and the player has double registration.
Consequently, the league body ruled that Warinje FC will "lose the match by 3 points and 3 goals and the player (Gwaisam K. Joseph) shall be banned for ONE year, and the club (Warrinjje FC Bauchi be fined, One Hundred Thousand Naira Only. (N100,000.00)."
