Nigerian Quintet Wins Slovakia League As Udeh Scores

Published on: 09 May 2016

Little known Nigerian defender Christopher Udeh came off the bench to score within six minutes in AS Trencin’s 4-0 win over Slovan Bratislava in the Slovakian Fortuna Liga.

Udeh started the game from the bench, and was introduced in the 85th minute as Trencin sought to close shop and protect their three-goal lead.

However, the defender had other ideas as he overlapped to score in the first minute of stoppage time to complete the rout, which confirmed Trencin as Slovakian champions for the second season running.

Kingsley Madu and Samuel Kalu were the two other Nigerians who featured, while Aliko Bala was an unused substitute and Rabiu Ibrahim was not listed.

The win makes it back-to-back championship wins for the Nigerian quintet, who also won the Slovakian Cup a fortnight ago.
