Nigeria Striker Abiola Dauda's Strike Fails To Lift Hearts Over Celtics

Published on: 30 April 2016

Nigerian striker Abiola Dauda scored for Hearts, but it wasn’t enough to help them secure a win as they were beaten 3-1 by Celtic in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

It was his fourth goal for Hearts since joining on loan from Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem.

The 28-year-old got on the score sheet just over 10 minutes after coming on to level the scores for Hearts, and give them some hope of securing their first win over the Scottish champions in four years, but it wasn’t to be as additional goals from Patrick Roberts and Leigh Griffiths ensured ‘The Hoops’ took one step closer to claiming their fifth straight league title.

The former Kalmar FF of Sweden striker was however not the only Nigerian on parade at the Tynecastle Stadium, as Efe Ambrose and Juwon Oshaniwa both lasted the entire duration for Celtic and Hearts respectively.
