Nigeria Premier Football League to operate on full schedule format

Published on: 17 July 2024

The 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season will run on a full schedule format, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

This is contrary to earlier reports suggesting a potential switch to an abridged format due to financial difficulties faced by some clubs.

Rivers United General Manager, Okey Kpalukwu, confirmed the decision on the first day of the NPFL's annual general meeting in Lagos, stating, "I can confidently tell you that the 2024/25 NPFL season will be a full format and not an abridged one."

The NPFL season is tentatively scheduled to commence on Saturday, August 31, 2024, with all 20 clubs set to compete in the full schedule format.
