Nigeria will be without Raphael Onyedika and Moses Usor for Tuesday’s international friendly against Russia after both players were prevented from joining the Super Eagles by their clubs.
Onyedika was not given permission by Eintracht Frankfurt to travel for the fixture. Moses Usor has also been retained by Austrian club LASK, leaving Nigeria’s coaching staff without two important members of the squad.
Usor had recently made an impressive start to his international career by scoring on his debut against Madagascar. However, LASK refused to release him because the call-up was considered to have arrived too late.
The late withdrawals have forced Nigeria’s staff to reconsider their tactical plans before a challenging meeting with Russia.
