Nigeria-eligible sensation Emmanuel Airoboma signs first professional contract with Liverpool

Liverpool FC has officially announced that Emmanuel Airoboma has signed his first professional contract with the club, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The 18-year-old defender, who is eligible to represent Nigeria at the international level, has been part of the Reds’ Academy since joining as an Under-12.

Airoboma’s journey began in grassroots football, where his talent was first spotted before he was recruited into Liverpool’s youth setup. Over the years, he has grown into a reliable and versatile defender, showcasing steady development through the Academy ranks.

Although naturally a centre-back, Airoboma’s ability to also play as a right-back has provided his coaches with valuable tactical flexibility. His adaptability and composure at the back have marked him out as one of the promising prospects in the club’s youth system.

Last season, he played a crucial role for the Under-18 side, regularly anchoring their defence with maturity beyond his years. His performances earned him a well-deserved promotion to Rob Page’s Under-21 squad, where he is expected to continue his progression and edge closer to the ultimate goal of breaking into Arne Slot’s senior team.
