Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick has absolved the board of any blame following the inability of the U-23 Eagles to travel to Brazil in time for the the Olympics.
Samson Siasia's charges were expected to travel to Rio for the football event of the games on Monday but have been stranded in Atlanta, United States of America where they have been training ahead of the competition.
Although the team are now reportedly on their way to Brazil after several delays due to fund shortage, Pinnick has explained the shifts in travel arrangements.
Amaju said it is not the responsibility of the Nigeria Football Federation but that of the Nigeria Olympic Committee to ensure the team travel to Rio without hinderances.
"Kindly note that it is the responsibility of the NOC to move the team,"Amaju wrote on his Twitter handle on Wednesday.
"The transfer system in the banks is very slow. We are working seriously with the ministry and now it will be okay."
The Nigeria U-23s, captained by Mikel Obi, will take on Japan in their first group game at 2am Friday morning Nigerian time.
