The cash-strapped Nigeria Football Federation is in a race against time to clear the kits supplied by Nike for the Nigeria U23s and other national teams ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games.

Due to the shortage of kits, the Dream Team VI players traveled to Mexico for their friendly against the North Americans wearing different apparels, contrary to the agreement the Federation reached with the American company.

A top source told allnigeriasoccer.com : “The Nike kits have arrived but the NFF needs five to six million naira to clear the kits from the ports.

“The Nigeria U23 players were not properly dressed when they traveled to Mexico . The players wore different kits, Adidas and Nike.

“They have also complained that there is no money for them in the United States, that they have less than $1,000 to spend, all the players. ”
