Newly-acquired Newcastle United signing Grant Hanley has revealed he will be using his experiences to help his side adjust to life in demanding league following his move from Blackburn Rovers, as reported by the "?BBC.
The former Blackburn Rovers captain, who made his debut for the Rovers aged 18, signed a five-year deal at St James' Park earlier last week for an undisclosed fee.
Hanley admitted that the prospect of joining the Magpies and the chances of a return to the Premier League was too hard to turn down.
The 25-year-old who remained at Ewood Park following his former side's relegation from the Premier League in 2012 notched up 201 appearances, scoring just one goal.
"I've played a lot of games in the Championship so I've got a lot of experience in there," the Scottish international said.
Hanley told BBC Newcastle: "It might come as a surprise to some people, it's a tough league not only the physical side, but mentally.
"The games keep coming so you have to be ready for that."
Hanley can't wait to get started and is excited play in front of the biggest crowd in the whole division.
"When I came up to look at the stadium I kept having to pinch myself," Hanley admitted.
"It was surreal, to get an opportunity like this was unbelievable."
