Newcastle Hit With a Blow as Rolando Aarons Suffers Season-Ending Knee Injury

"?Newcastle winger Rolando Aarons will miss the rest of the season, having suffered a devastating knee injury.


The club have confirmed as much via their official website, and on Wednesday released a statement which read: "Newcastle United can confirm that Rolando Aarons sustained a rupture to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a training session this week.


"He will undergo surgery in due course and a further statement will be made at that time."

This is the sixth major injury suffered by the 21-year-old since 2014. He had just returned to training after recovering from a foot injury suffered in August.


Timeline of Aarons' injuries:


Sept 2014 - Thigh injury - Out for two months


Nov 2014 - Hamstring injury - Out for six months


Sept 2015 - Calf injury - Out for one month


Oct 2015 - Malleolar (leg) injury - Out for two months


August 2016 - Metatarsal (foot) injury - Had just returned to training


November 2016 - ACL injury - Until next season, at least.
